There have been several reports of solicitors in the Village limits at all hours of the day and evenings. Please be aware that ALL solicitors are required to register with the Village Hall. If someone unusual knocks at your door, you are NOT required to answer your door or anyone’s questions. Please do NOT give out any personal information they are asking for OR any information from any utility bills. At this time, we have not had anyone apply for a Solicitor’s permit since October of 2019.
There are also several scams going on. Please note that the Social Security Administration nor the IRS will ever call you to update information or tell you your identity has been compromised. Everything these two administrations do is done via USPS. If someone calls to say your relative in a foreign country needs money, DO NOT SEND or release personal information. Hang up the phone.
